After six years at the helm of the five-star-rated Beth Abraham Center, Moshe Blackstein comes to Amsterdam Nursing Home. Moshe was selected to lead an illustrious team of healthcare professionals based on his unique blend of operational experience, administrative acumen, and warm demeanor with residents and families. His primary goal is to preserve our nurturing environment where all residents feel at home. At Amsterdam Nursing Home, our staff understands the importance of meeting our residents’ needs and are truly delighted to welcome each resident into our family.
Avromi Reifman
Associate Administrator
Avromi earned a degree in Healthcare Administration/Management from Touro College and St. Joseph’s College. In his role as Associate Administrator, he oversees the general management of the facility, interacting with staff, residents, and families alike. Avromi credits his colleagues at Amsterdam Nursing Home for teaching him what devotion to patient care means—going above and beyond the call of duty in order to ensure the cheer, dignity, and health of every patient that is a part of the Amsterdam Nursing Home family.
Tzvi Griner
Assistant Administrator
Tzvi Griner recently joined as the Assistant Administrator at Amsterdam Nursing Home. He prides himself on his unmatched devotion to residents and their families, ensuring a comfortable and effective stay at the facility. Tzvi’s ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment is greatly contributing to the well-being and happiness of those under our care. He looks forward to being a part of the wonderful team at Amsterdam Nursing Home!
Judy Batashoff RD, CDN
Registered Dietitian
Judy received a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Queens College and completed a Dietetic Internship at LIU Post. Good nutrition is her passion and has been for 25 years. She loves talking with the residents, whether to discuss the foods they like, teach them how proper nutrition can positively impact their health, or simply to get to know them better.
Connie Brown
Director of Rehabilitation
Connie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Gerontology Studies from York College and a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Mercy College. She is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives—something she has the opportunity to do every day at Amsterdam.
MD Rahman
Food Service Director
MD Rahman has an MBA, with a major in marketing, from East West University in Bangladesh. He has spent his entire career in the food service industry and is always working towards perfecting the craft. “It’s an honor,” he says, “to serve the patients and residents, meet with them regularly, listen to their needs and fulfill their requests.”
Raul Catacutan
Director of Nursing
Raul Catacutan Jr. is a Nurse Director with experience in hospital and nursing home settings. With expertise in emergency room and neuro ICU, he brings a diverse background to his role. He graduated from Manila Doctors College and possesses extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement, and staff development. He excels in leading nursing teams, ensuring high standards of care, and promoting patient safety. Raul is a collaborative leader who drives positive outcomes in complex healthcare environments.
Maia Santarina
Associate Director of Nursing
Maia’s father always wanted her to be a nurse. As a good daughter she took up nursing and fell in love with nursing on her second year in school and excelled in her clinical rotations. She graduated in 1994 and started her nursing career as a volunteer for the Philippine Red Cross and continued her trajectory in 2000 as a volunteer nurse while preparing her move to NYC. She’s been practicing as a long term care nurse since 2003 and loves every minute of it.
Damion Jenkins
Assistant Director of Nursing
Damion became a registered nurse in 2010, and later earned his master’s degree in nursing education from Walden University in 2014. He brings many years of nursing excellence and expertise to the Amsterdam community, where he specializes in team member education, training, and professional development, so that our team can provide the most comprehensive and competent care for our residents. Damion welcomes every opportunity to be of service to our residents, families, and visitors.
Dr. Robert Holland
Medical Director
Dr. Holland attended Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and then Medical School at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He later obtained a Master of Healthcare Administration Degree from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. He specializes in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. “My goal,” he says, “to help make the amazing care we provide at Amsterdam even better for our residents and help our staff to grow and advance their careers.”
