In order to safeguard our residents and staff members from Coronavirus, Amsterdam Nursing Home has implemented strict protection protocols in accordance with guidance issued by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the New York Department of Health and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
We have implemented an extensive Emergency Preparedness Plan and activated our Emergency Management Team, led by our Senior Vice President/Administrator and Vice President of Nursing, and joined by our Medical Director and other clinicians. Our team is in constant communication and is working with our staff to minimize the risk of our residents and staff being exposed to, or contracting, Coronavirus.
This is a rapidly changing situation and we are monitoring our protective policies and procedures daily in view of new information provided to us by health authorities. We have been modifying our Emergency Preparedness Plan, as needed, and will continue to do so.
For your own safety and those of our residents and staff, it is very important that over the coming days and weeks that you pay attention to and follow directives issued by our Management Team and the authorities.
We understand that all of this is highly unsettling to residents, their families, and loved ones. Please be assured that we’re committed to protecting our residents and our staff and we will continue to take all necessary precautions with their health and safety in mind.
The commitment of our employees to Amsterdam Nursing Home and its residents during this uncertain time has been unwavering. I am personally grateful to them all beyond words.
